The objective of this abstract painting was two-fold - to practice a reflection on water in the foreground (lower quarter of the painting), and a translucent texture in the background (upper third on the painting).  The superstructure of the of the ship was the least of my concern, so it was left unfinished.  The painting took approximately 8 hours to complete.
